Also note that UNILAG does not accept Music, Fine Arts, and Principles of Accounting, but accepts either Economics or Commerce, but not both; on the other hand, DELSU and ABU require Literature in English and any other Arts or Social Science subjects.

O’Level Requirements for Law UTME Candidates

To apply for Law as a UTME candidate, a minimum possession of five ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Literature in English, and others depending on the institution involved, is required from you.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates 2026

Direct Entry (DE) applicants are to possess the following requirements

• Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts or Social Science subjects
• NCE/ND/First Degree (Second Class Lower)

You are also to note that AAU does not accept NCE, while UNIMAID requires two ‘A’ levels from Government, Literature in English and Religious Studies; RSUST and OAU accept First Degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Honours plus UTME requirements, but do not accept NCE/ND/HND; ANSU does not require English Literature for degree holders.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Agriculture 2026

The core UTME subject combination needed to study a discipline under the faculty of Agriculture is the following;

1. Use of English
2. Chemistry
3. Biology/Agriculture and any one of Physics or Mathematics.

You must also consider several special requirements from these institutions such as ILORIN, UDU and IMSU that accept Economics or Geography in place of Physics/Mathematics; ABUAD requires Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics; and a lot more depending on the institution you are applying to be admitted into.

O’Level Requirements for Agriculture UTME Candidates 2026

Most institutions require five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Economics.

Institutions such as IBADAN require five (5) credit passes including English Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and any one of Geography, Physics or Economics, and IMSU accepts ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics, along with ‘O’ Level credit pass in Physics and vice versa, so you need to put all of these into consideration while preparing to be admitted.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates 2026

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/Zoology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).

Further considerations have it that IBADAN and UMUDIKE accept ND or HND in the related fields. IBADAN Agricultural candidates must apply to read Agriculture until 500 level when options will be available, and LAPAI and ILORIN require ‘A’ Level passes in both Chemistry and Biology.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Arts & Humanities 2026

Generally, any two (2) subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and one of History, Religious Studies, Government and Geography with English Language being the main subject is widely considered as the subject combination for the UTME; however, special considerations such as the ones below may always kick in;

ILORIN requires Arabic and any other two (2) Arts/Social Science Subjects; KWASU requires two (2) other Arts subjects; FED DUTSINMA requires English Language, Arabic and any two of Arts or Social Sciences Subjects; and others which you will get to know as you download the brochure.

O’Level Requirements for Arts & Humanities UTME Candidates

A standard of five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, CRS and three (3) other relevant subjects is also required from UTME candidates, with the special considerations involving the below;

• ABSU accepts: ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language provided Fine Art grade is not below B3;
  • ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences
• FED LAFIA requires Five (5) Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB O’ Level examination including English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.
  • Credit level pass in Fine Arts/ Visual Arts is an added advantage

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

Candidates applying for their admission through the direct entry process are required to possess two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Literature in English or History. And at the same time, NCE is relevant.

Note that ABU accepts two ‘A’ level/IJMB in Geography/Biology/History or any other Subject. NCE with a minimum of Merit. ABU accepts Diploma in related subjects, and KWASU accepts IJMB, Cambridge and NCE.

Five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics and Economics. Five (5) TC II merit points, including English Language and Mathematics, are required as a UTME candidate.

FED OYE EKITI requires five (5) SSC credit passes in five (5) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, and EKSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting as their special considerations.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates 2026

As a direct entry candidate, you are to possess two (2)’A’ Level passes from Literature in English, History, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo with an ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics. NCE merit in the subjects listed above.

Special Considerations: EKSU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and Economics. In addition, EKSU accepts NCE credit/merit in relevant subjects, and PHC does not have Direct Entry (DE).
