A massive educational intervention targeting 10,000 students across Oyo State has commenced, with the first batch of beneficiaries receiving free JAMB registration forms in Lagelu Local Government Area.

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant, launched the initiative on Tuesday at Lasting Glory JAMB CBT Centre in Ejioku Area, where over 200 students completed their 2026 UTME registration at no cost.

The programme, executed through the Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo Scholarship and Empowerment Scheme, aims to remove financial barriers preventing indigent students from sitting the examination.

Hon. Imoleayo Sola Idowu, representing Ambassador Ajadi, explained that the intervention aligns with efforts to expand educational opportunities for disadvantaged youths in the state. He noted that “It is part of the idea of Ambassador Ajadi to support the less privileged in society. He has been doing it; this is not the first time. By 2028, he will be in the Oyo Government House by the Grace of God and will do more for the state. Ajadi is following the footsteps of Governor Seyi Makinde to help improve the educational system in Oyo. He is desirous of making education accessible to the downtrodden.”

He announced that the programme would extend to all 33 local government areas in Oyo State, with Egbeda Local Government Area next in line.

Adigun Rasheedat Ololade, attempting UTME for the second time, thanked the foundation for the timely assistance, “his kind gesture and for being able to obtain the form for free.”

Abdul Rasheed Adebayo described how the intervention restored his hope after financial challenges threatened his academic ambitions. “I didn’t have the money to purchase JAMB forms. I had lost hope, but I benefited from the free JAMB forms courtesy of Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, and I believe he has done well,” he stated.

Mrs Oladayo Oluwaseun Adisa, a parent whose child benefited, expressed gratitude for the relief provided to families struggling with examination costs.

Hon. Adesunbo Banatunde, a councillor in Lagelu Local Government, commended the gesture and called on wealthy Nigerians to support youth education. “I called on other well to do Nigerians to do the same in their state. I urged both politicians and non politicians to help build the future of our youths,” he appealed.
