South East Renewed Hope Agenda Provides Free JAMB Registration for 10,000 Abia Students

Students across Abia State’s 17 local government areas have received free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board registration through a scholarship programme launched by the South East Renewed Hope Agenda in Umuahia.

The initiative targets 10,000 indigent but academically promising students, providing them with complete coverage of examination costs to ensure financial constraints do not prevent qualified candidates from sitting the UTME.

Belusochukwu Enwere, National Coordinator of SERHA, described the programme as a strategic investment in Abia’s future during the launch ceremony, positioning it as one of the largest private education support interventions in the state’s recent history.

Enwere stressed that education remains the most powerful tool for transformation and societal development, framing the scholarship as an opportunity to break financial barriers preventing young people from accessing higher education.

“Today is not just about registration. It is about hope, opportunity, and investing in the future of Abia State,” Enwere stated, explaining that the programme seeks to reduce burdens on parents and guardians whilst encouraging academic excellence across the state.

He challenged perceptions of the initiative as routine political activity, insisting it represents purposeful leadership in action and reflects SERHA’s belief in the intellectual capacity of Abia youths.

Enwere connected the scholarship to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, describing the support as a vote of confidence in the beneficiaries’ potential and future contributions to society.

He charged students to justify the opportunity through discipline, hard work, and dedication to their studies, setting clear expectations for commitment and excellence.

“As we sponsor your JAMB registration, we expect commitment and excellence. Make Abia proud. Make Nigeria proud,” Enwere stated.

The National Coordinator acknowledged sacrifices made by parents and guardians, assuring them that the scholarship complements their efforts in securing brighter futures for their children.

He thanked stakeholders and partners who contributed to the initiative’s success, expressing optimism about expanding the programme in subsequent years to reach more students.

Enwere positioned the JAMB sponsorship as the beginning of broader interventions aimed at uplifting communities and promoting sustainable development throughout the South East region.

He urged beneficiaries to prepare thoroughly for the examination, emphasising that success comes through preparation and perseverance rather than chance or luck.

The launch attracted students, parents, and education stakeholders who described the initiative as timely relief amid the current economic challenges facing Nigerian families.

Enwere concluded by expressing hope that the scholarship would open doors of admission, excellence, and leadership for thousands of Abia youths.
