The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has fixed 11th May, 2026, as the date for its annual Policy Meeting on Admissions, with the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, expected to unveil key policy directions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The meeting will be held at the Body of Benchers Auditorium, Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja.
At the gathering, stakeholders will deliberate on minimum tolerable UTME marks, admission guidelines, and policies governing tertiary institutions nationwide. The meeting is also expected to formally set the tone for the 2026/2027 admission exercise while impressing on attendees the need to adhere strictly to stipulated guidelines.
Vice Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and their admission officers are among those expected to attend. Regulatory bodies, including the National Universities Commission, the National Commission for Colleges of Education, and the National Board for Technical Education, will also be represented, alongside goodwill message presenters from NELFUND, NYSC, and other critical stakeholders.
The 6th Edition of the National Tertiary Admissions Performance Merit Awards, known as NATAP M, is also scheduled to be held on the same occasion. The awards have been credited with enforcing strict adherence to admission guidelines and contributing to the development of tertiary education across the country.
JAMB’s annual policy meeting serves as a critical platform for institutions and regulators to align on the standards and benchmarks governing student admissions to universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education in Nigeria.
