Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examination (JAMB) has announced a new date for the commencement of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry registration. See more details below;
The sale of forms will begin around January 26th, 2026, and so will the registration of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) begin. The deadline for the purchasing of forms and registration will be February 26th.
Direct Entry candidates are also to prepare as the sale of application documents and e-PIN vending will begin on March 2nd and end on April 25th, 2026. On the other hand, candidates registering for UTME with a mock exam will pay N8,200, while those opting for UTME only (without the mock) will pay N7,200.
According to Prof. Ishaq Direct Entry candidates will also pay N5,700, and a trial-testing mock has been prepared for underage candidates or those seeking Computer-Based Test (CBT) experience which cost is N3,500.

In his explanation concerning a trial-testing mock for underage, the idea has been introduced specifically for candidates below the age of 16 and not for admission purpose rather to test candidates abilities in preparation for a future examination.
His additionally statement had that candidates must be at least 16 years old on or before September, 2026, to qualify for admission into universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education. At the same time, candidates under 16 years may be considered if they exceptionally perform in their SSCE, UTME and post-UTME examinations.
Also, 1,039 computer-based test (CBT) centres had been screened and provisionally listed for the 2026 UTME, compared to 900+ centers marking it a big progress so far.
