Candidates who sat for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have a fresh admission window as the European University of Nigeria (EUN), Abuja, has fixed its minimum entry score at 150 for the 2025/2026 academic session. This development offers a viable pathway for applicants seeking quality tertiary education in a serene environment.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Ibezim, disclosed this during a press conference in Abuja, where he also unveiled a reform agenda to bridge existing gaps in the nation’s university system. He explained that the institution has secured full approval from the National Universities Commission for 23 programmes, including high demand courses like Pharmacy, Law, Nursing, and Cybersecurity. He explained that the admission benchmark is designed to offer more students access to quality education without compromising standards.
Established to counter the issues of unstable academic calendars and weak university industry linkages, EUN aims to retain Nigerian students who typically travel abroad. Ibezim stressed that the institution offers a blend of European and Nigerian curricula. “We are delivering European standard education within Nigeria at affordable rates. This is our contribution to reversing educational migration and conserving foreign exchange for national development,” he noted.
Although private universities face stringent regulations and do not receive TETFund allocations, the Vice Chancellor affirmed that the university has invested heavily in infrastructure. Students can expect modern laboratories, digital classrooms, furnished hostels, and 24 hour electricity. He also mentioned that the institution is engaging in research focused on drone technology and digital learning tools.
The university administration has taken a firm stance against indiscipline, particularly drug abuse. Looking forward, Ibezim expressed optimism about the future of the institution. He invited the public to the maiden matriculation ceremony scheduled for March 7. “Our vision is that within five years, EUN will rank among Nigeria’s leading institutions in Cybersecurity, Nursing, Pharmacy, Software Engineering and Law, while producing globally competitive, skill driven graduates,” he concluded.
