The Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has started giving out free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to 250 students in need from the area. The council chairman, Hon. Sunday Benson, announced the start of this program on Monday.
In a statement released by the council, the general public, particularly eligible students of Imota Local Council Development Area, were urged to take advantage of the opportunity.
According to the council, the programme aligns with the “Hi-SEE” Transformation Agenda and is designed to eliminate financial obstacles that prevent talented young people from accessing tertiary education.
“This initiative, in line with the ‘Hi-SEE’ Transformation Agenda, is aimed at removing financial barriers that hinder brilliant young minds from accessing tertiary education. By supporting indigent students, we are building a stronger, smarter, and more productive community for tomorrow,” the council stated.
The local authority encouraged eligible students to contact community students’ union bodies, youth groups, the LGA and ward representatives to access the free forms.
“Eligible students are advised to take advantage of this by contacting the community students’ union bodies, youth groups, LGA and ward representatives, and prepare to pursue their academic dreams with confidence,” the statement read.
The council emphasised its commitment to educational development within the local government area, expressing optimism about the positive impact of the initiative.
“Together, we will build the Imota LCDA of our dreams,” the council added.
The distribution of free JAMB forms is expected to provide significant relief to indigent families in Imota LCDA who struggle to afford registration fees for their children’s tertiary education entrance examinations.
Interested students have been advised to approach the designated channels promptly to benefit from the scheme.
