The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released the results of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination mop up exercise, with the ranking of candidates expected to commence immediately.
The board’s Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, announced the development on Tuesday, confirming that the results are now accessible through JAMB’s established result checking channels. See our step by step guide on how to check your mop up result here
The mop up examination was conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2026, and served as a final opportunity for candidates who were biometrically verified for the main UTME but were unable to sit the examination due to technical glitches, biometric issues, or other disruptions at their centres during the main examination window.
Benjamin disclosed that, following the conclusion of the exercise and the release of the results, the board would proceed to rank the candidates. “Thereafter, the printing of results for admission purposes is expected to begin before the weekend,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation for the conduct of all parties involved throughout the process. “Following the successful conclusion of the mop up exercise and the release of the results, the Board will commence the ranking of candidates,” Benjamin noted, adding that candidates and stakeholders had demonstrated commendable patience and cooperation.
The main 2026 UTME was held between April 16 and April 25, 2026, before the mop up session was organised to accommodate affected candidates who missed the original examinations through no fault of their own.
With results now published, attention shifts to the admission process, as the board moves towards generating and printing result slips that institutions will rely on for screening and placement decisions.
