The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has delisted 23 Computer Based Test centres across 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory following a technical review of the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, conducted on March 27.
JAMB spokesperson Fabian Benjamin announced the decision on Friday, explaining that the affected centres were sanctioned for failing to meet the board’s required operational and technical standards. The number of delisted centres rose from 20, initially announced on March 31 when results were released, to 23 following a further review.
Benjamin stated that the mock UTME serves a dual purpose. “It provides an opportunity to identify centres that fall short of the required operational and technical standards,” he disclosed, adding that the board took decisive steps to ensure only fully prepared and compliant centres participate in the main UTME exercise.
In addition to the delisted centres, JAMB issued warnings to 88 centres with minor technical issues. One centre, Hashem Academy, located at 15 Owodunni Street, off Iwaya Road, Yaba, Lagos, was permanently barred from participating in any future JAMB examinations.
Benjamin urged candidates to remain calm, confirming that necessary adjustments would be made to ensure no candidate was disadvantaged. He also advised all candidates to continue printing their examination notification slips and to verify their assigned centres through the official JAMB accredited centres portal before the main UTME.
