Igbo billionaire philanthropist and National President of De Imperial Philanthropic Family (DIPF), High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike, has distributed ₦25,000,000 in scholarships to 25 outstanding students from the South East geopolitical zone, rewarding exceptional performance in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Each beneficiary received ₦1,000,000 at the 2025 DIPF Scholarship Award Ceremony held on Thursday, 12 February 2026, in Awka, Anambra State. The selection process was conducted in two stages. Candidates were first required to score 250 and above in the 2025 UTME, after which they sat a competitive scholarship examination organised by Best Brain Contest on behalf of DIPF. Five students were chosen from each of the five South East states purely on merit.

At the ceremony, Nwabunike congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to remain focused and committed to excellence, reaffirming DIPF’s belief in education as a vehicle for youth empowerment and regional development.

DIPF Education Committee Chairman, Chief Chikezie Okonkwo, praised the students for their hard work and commended Best Brain Contest, owned by Dr Frank Igbojindu, for the professionalism and transparency demonstrated throughout the assessment and selection exercise across the South East.
