The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has released results for 1,897,692 candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination across the first three days of the nationwide exercise.
Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, confirmed in a statement that 1,264,940 results from Friday, 17 April and Saturday, 18 April 2026 have been processed and made available, following an earlier release covering 632,752 candidates who wrote the examination on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
“The results of candidates who sat the examination on Friday, 17 April and Saturday, 18 April 2026 have now been released. A total of 1,264,940 results from these two days are available for candidates to check/view,” the statement read.
Candidates seeking to access their results are required to send UTMERESULT via SMS to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number with which they registered for the examination.

Beyond the result releases, Benjamin disclosed that the Board has taken enforcement action against individuals found manipulating results. Two candidates and one parent are currently in custody for engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other electronic means.
“The Board treats such misconduct with the utmost gravity,” Benjamin stated, warning that any candidate found culpable would face the full consequences of the law.
The 2026 UTME commenced on Thursday, 16 April 2026, across 966 Computer Based Test centres nationwide, with 2,000,000 candidates registered to participate. During the examination, a number of candidates encountered technical difficulties with digital applications. JAMB officials subsequently pledged to resolve the issues and indicated that a new date would be scheduled for affected candidates who were unable to complete their examinations.
Benjamin further noted that result printing remains unavailable at this stage, and that additional results would continue to be released in batches as the examination progresses.
The board maintained its position that altering or fabricating SMS results constitutes a serious criminal offence, urging all candidates to access only legitimate channels for result verification.
