The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has confirmed the release of 1,897,692 results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, with scores now accessible for all examination days from 16 April through 23 April as the board continues processing the final batches.

The board’s spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin, announced the development via JAMB’s official X handle, noting that results for the final two examination days, 24 and 25 April, remain under processing and will be made available in subsequent batches.

Checking scores currently requires the SMS method, which remains the only option available at this time. Candidates are required to send the word “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019, strictly using the telephone line registered during the UTME application process. A minimum airtime balance of ₦50 must be available on the line before sending the message. The board has stated clearly that result slips are not available for printing at this stage; viewing is the only function currently enabled.

The 2026 UTME, which began on 16 April, was conducted across accredited Computer Based Test centres in Lagos, Abuja, and other locations across the country before concluding on 25 April. The total number of registered candidates, 2,243,761, represents a marginal increase compared to the previous year’s figures.

Education stakeholders have taken note of the pace at which results are being processed. Adesegun Ogungbayi, board chairman of MIMS Educational Resources Limited, praised the improvements introduced into the 2026 examination cycle, describing the turnaround as commendable.

“For example, they release results faster than usual. That is within 24 hours after the exam. That is not a bad standard,” Ogungbayi stated, adding that the board had demonstrated responsiveness to feedback from education professionals.

JAMB has urged candidates to rely solely on official channels for updates and to await further announcements regarding the release of results for the remaining examination dates.
