JAMB 2026/2027 Cut Off for Land & Surveying & Geoinformatics

Following the progression towards the commencement of the 2026/2027 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), JAMB has disclosed the cut off mark required for prospective students of Land & Surveying & Geoinformatics to be deemed eligible to apply for admission into their preferred choice of institution. Find out the details here

JAMB General Cut Off Marks for 2026

Setting the benchmark for admission applications is handled by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board. According to JAMB, a candidate will only be approved to apply for admission into any given university if their score is up to 140 in their UTME, application into Polytechnics and Colleges of Education if their score has exceeded or equals 100.

However, these are just the general benchmarks. Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education often require more than the general benchmark from their prospective Land Surveying & Geoinformatics students.

Polytechnics Offering Land Surveying & Geoinformatics

Polytechnics can also be an option to studying Land Surveying & Geoinformatics for students with low JAMB score such as 120, 150, since the benchmark for Polytechnics is 100. Some polytechnics offering Land Surveying & Geoinformatics include:

  1. Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH): 150
  2. Federal Polytechnic, Nekede: 140
  3. Kaduna Polytechnic: 120
  4. Auchi Polytechnic: 120

Factors Affecting Admission for Land Surveying & Geoinformatics

  1. A high JAMB Score as you have known already, improves admission chances.
  2. Post UTME Performance is required by some universities.
  3. O’Level Results improve your chances as well. You need at least five credits in relevant subjects (Maths, English, Physics, Geography, and one other science/technical subject).
  4. Catchment Area is another factor, as some universities prioritize students from specific states.
  5. Federal institutions may have a quota system reserving slots for indigenous students.

Frequently Asked Questions

The general JAMB cut off mark for universities is 140, but most institutions offering Land Surveying & Geoinformatics require 180 or higher for admission.

It depends on the institution. While JAMB’s minimum benchmark is 140, most universities require at least 180 or above. If your score is below 180, consider polytechnics or less competitive universities.

For polytechnics, the minimum JAMB score is generally 100, but some institutions set their cut off at 120 to 150, depending on competition and policies.

Yes, private universities generally accept lower cut off marks. Some, like Babcock University and Bells University of Technology, accept 180, while Covenant University may require 200 or above.

No, JAMB only sets the minimum cut off mark (140 for universities). Each institution determines its specific cut off, which is often higher.

Yes, many universities require Post UTME as part of their admission process. Your performance in the screening can determine whether you get admitted.

If you don’t meet the required cut off; apply for a change of course to a less competitive program, or consider polytechnics or colleges of education with lower cut-off marks. There is also an option to retake JAMB the following year for a better score.

Even if you have excellent O’Level results, you still need to meet the JAMB cut off mark set by your preferred university. Some institutions may accept a lower JAMB score with a strong Post UTME score.
