The special considerations on subject combination are as follows;

  • EBSU requires Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.
  • LAGOS requires English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any of Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Geography
  • BENIN requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.
  • EBSU accepts Statistics but does not accept Agricultural Science.

O’Level Requirements for Science UTME Candidates 2025

Generally, a possession of Five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology is needed from UTME candidates;

  • LAUTECH requires ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
  • GOUU same as in Biological Sciences.
  • IMSU requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry and also accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
  • EBSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science subject from Further Mathematics and Biology or Agricultural Science
  • FUTA requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Chemistry
  • AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two (2) other Science subjects.
  • RENAISSANCE and PAUL require five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

Direct Entry Requirements

Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes chosen from Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology. NCE/ND/HND in related programmes plus the UTME requirements are the required documents from direct entry candidates.

  • FUTA accepts; National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit or equivalent from recognized Polytechnic or College of Technology; or
    • GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent with passes in Mathematics and at least one of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Agricultural Science at minimum of grade C.
  • BINGHAM and ILORIN require ‘A’ Level passes in Chemistry and Biology.
  • COOU accepts ND credit in related programmes
  • BENIN does not accept Mathematics at ‘A’ Level. In addition to UTME requirements accepts ND upper credit / HND lower credit in Food Technology or Science Laboratory Technology. NCE credit in Biology or Chemistry.
  • BABCOCK, KSU, PHC, ABSU and IMSU No Direct Entry
  • MINNA, COOU and UDU accept ND/HND lower credit plus four (4) ‘O’ Level credit passes in relevant subjects.
  • OOU accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
