JAMB UTME Subject Combination for Arts & Humanities 2025
Generally, any two (2) subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and one of History, Religious Studies, Government and Geography with English Language being the main subject is widely consider as the subject combination for the UTME, however special considerations such as the ones below may always kick in;
ILORIN requires Arabic and any other two (2) Arts/Social Science Subjects, KWASU requires two (2) other Arts subjects, FED-DUTSINMA requires English Language, Arabic and any two of Arts or Social Sciences Subjects, and others which you will get to know as you download the brochure.
O’Level Requirements for Arts & Humanities UTME Candidates
A standard of five (5) SSC credit passes in English Language, CRS and three (3) other relevant subjects is also required from UTME candidates, with the special considerations involving the below;
- ABSU accepts: ‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language provided Fine Art grade is not below B3;
- ‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics and any three (3) subjects from Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences
- FED-LAFIA requires Five (5) Credit passes at SSCE, GCE, NECO and NABTEB O’ Level examination including English Language, Mathematics and three other relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.
- Credit level pass in Fine Arts/ Visual. Arts is an added advantage
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
Candidates applying for their admission through the direct entry process are required to possess two (2) ‘A’ Level passes including Literature in English or History. And at the same time, NCE is relevant.
Note that ABU accepts Two ‘A’ level/IJMB in Geography/Biology/History or any other Subject. NCE with minimum of Merit. ABU accepts Diploma in related subjects, and KWASU accepts IJMB, Cambridge and NCE.
